WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
- Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
- Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
- Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
- Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
- Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
- Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
- Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
MECHANIC EXPERIENCE? WE WANT YOU.
Your automotive experience can be a strong foundation for this role. Candidates with backgrounds in:
- Automotive repair
- Automotive electrical
- Fleet maintenance
- Diesel/heavy-duty mechanics
- Vehicle upfitting
- Mobile service
- ADAS/diagnostics
- Telematics or vehicle electronics are encouraged to apply.
You don't need to know every telematics system on day one. We’re looking for strong technical aptitude, hands-on experience, and the ability to learn.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.
- Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools.
- Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working independently in a mobile environment.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work.
- Professional communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in, around, and underneath vehicles and trailers.
- 21+ years of age
NICE TO HAVE
- Telematics/GPS/ELD installation experience.
- Experience with Samsara, Geotab, Motive, Verizon Connect, Lytx, or similar platforms.
- 12V/24V electrical experience.
- Commercial truck or trailer experience.
- ADAS scanning or calibration experience.
ASE, I-CAR, or related certifications.
